The History of Carter Motor Company
Carter Motor Company was founded in 1932 by Alva (Jack) Carter and remained in the family until 1986 when Robert F. and Dolores K. Schnoes purchased the business and moved it to a new 33,000 square foot facility located on 5 acres in Warren, Illinois.
On February 1, 2006, a new chapter began in Carter’s history; the 74-year old company was sold by the Schnoes’ to Keith E. Geisler. Keith came to Carter Motor in 1996 bringing with him 16 years of motor experience, taking him through the ranks of Production, Operations, and now serving the company as President.
The company continues to operate as Carter Motor Company with a focus on quality, on-time delivery, and the excellent customer service that its customers have come to expect. Keith is dedicated to providing, and improving, the above services as well as working closely with his customers to create new and better methods to meet the customer’s needs as they exist today and their future requirements.
A major milestone was realized on September 25, 2008, when the company attained ISO 9001:2008 certification status.
